CHARIOTS OF FIRE TO RIDE AGAIN
A British screenwriter is creating a long-awaited sequel to 1981 classic movie CHARIOTS OF FIRE.
Writer Rich Swingle is penning a script about the life of religious Scots runner Eric Liddell, who refused to practice on Sundays, and Harold Abrahams, who battled anti-Semitism following his Olympic gold win in 1924.
Swingle enthuses, "We are hoping trailers will be ready in time for the Beijing Olympics in 2008. I've unearthed some interesting new facts, for example, how Winston Churchill acted on behalf of Liddell when he was interred as a Japanese prisoner of war.
"We do need help, however, with information about Abrahams. It is know he adopted two children but it's proving very difficult to track them down."
