Hollywood veteran CAROL CHANNING was caught up in a bank robbery in Palm Desert, California on Friday (25Jan07) afternoon. The 86-year-old Oscar nominee was in a branch of the Washington Mutual Bank when a man walked in and handed a cashier a note demanding money. Police say the teller complied, and the unarmed suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash, reports U.S. TV channel CBS 2. Channing says, "Well, along with a lot of other people, I've been robbed." The incident marks the second time the actress has been linked to a robbery. In September (07), a thief stole Channing's priceless diamond dress from her luggage at the Hollywood Renaissance hotel. The gown was later returned by a homeless man, who told a security guard he found it in a nearby park.
