CBS WINS THURSDAY DESPITE RATINGS FALL
CBS remained the most-watched network on Thursday night despite an overall erosion of its audience. Its opening series, Survivor Samoa , has entered the new season relatively unscathed, showing an audience drop to 11.93 million from 12.81 million a year ago (when the series originated in Gabon), a drop of 7 percent. At 9 00 p.m., however, CSI Crime Scene Investigation attracted 15.10 million viewers -- a solid number, to be sure, but a whopping 22 percent lower than a year ago when it attracted 19.27 million viewers. The network did make an effective change in the 10 00 p.m. hour, however, by moving The Mentalist into the period, replacing last year's Eleventh Hour . The Mentalist drew 14.41 million viewers, well above the 12 million that The Eleventh Hour averaged.
