CBS CHIEFS SUE OVER TV ROW

CBS bosses have launched a $5 million (£3 million) lawsuit against a broadcasting company in a row over fees for top U.S. TV shows including ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT and DR. PHIL.
In papers filed at Los Angeles Superior Court this week (begs15Jun09), CBS chiefs claim they have not been fully paid for episodes of shows including Rachael Ray and Inside Edition which were aired on WLNE, a station in Providence, Rhode Island.
They are suing Global Broadcasting - which owns WLNE - for the remaining $2.1 million (£1.4 million), according to TMZ.com.
And they are demanding a further $2.7 million (£1.6 million) in damages after broadcasting bosses allegedly pulled the shows from their schedule before the agreed date.
