CAVE INDUCTED INTO HALL OF FAME
Australian musician NICK CAVE will be inducted into the ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) Hall of Fame later this month (Oct07). The singer/songwriter, 50, will be recognised for his contribution to music over the past 30 years. ARIA Awards committee chairman Ed St John says, "Nick Cave has enjoyed - and continues to enjoy - one of the most extraordinary careers in the annals of popular music. "As an industry we should be immensely proud and humbled by Nick Cave's achievements." Cave - who has collaborated on the soundtrack for the new Brad Pitt film, The Assassination of Jesse James by the outlaw Robert Ford - is the final inductee for the 2007 Hall of Fame.
