CATHOLIC FAMILY RELEASE ALBUM OF ANCIENT SANSKRIT HYMNS

The world's only Sanskrit rock band, SHANTI SHANTI, has recorded a new album featuring ancient Hindu hymns.
The family group, featuring Robert Henry Forman and his children Andrea, Sara and Micah, spent a year researching Vedas Rig-veda, Sama-veda, Atharva-veda and Yajur-veda to create their sixth album, titled Veda.
Andrea Forman, who has also translated traditional Christian prayer Ave Maria in Sanskrit, says, "We fell in love with the overwhelming stillness, exuberance, clarity and amplified sensory awareness of Sanskrit poetry, which we have attempted to share on this record."
The Catholic family's efforts have been praised by Hindu scholars; Rajan Zed, the president of the Universal Society of Hinduism, says, "Youth, specially of India and those living in foreign countries coming from an Indian background, need to learn from the example of the Forman sisters, who have mastered the ancient language Sanskrit.
"They are promoting it in a big way on their own inspiration, living in a non-Sanskrit environment and coming from a heritage with no Sanskrit background."

What a marvelous idea! I have heard a recording of ancient Greek music reconstructed. I have also heard a recording of a song accompanied by a lyre based on an ancient cuneiform inscription in Hurrian. I wonder whether the music for this album is based on anything authentic or purely inspiration? And where, oh where, would one buy it?
