LATEST: KATIE CASSIDY insists that she is still part of the cast of the big screen adaptation of DALLAS despite rumours that nearly all castmembers have been sacked. Hollywood trade paper Variety reported on Friday (13OCTO6) that the cast was being completely overhauled except for star JOHN TRAVOLTA. Cassidy spoke to entertainment news website TMZ.com and slammed the report, insisting that she is still set to play LUCY EWING when production starts. Cassidy, who is the daughter of former PARTRIDGE FAMILY teen heart-throb DAVID CASSIDY, is currently filming the remake of REVENGE OF THE NERDS. LUKE WILSON and SHIRLEY MACLAINE have been fired from Dallas, while JENNIFER LOPEZ left the production in August (06). The film's director GURINDER CHADHA is waiting to see the new cast before deciding whether or not she'll stay on as the film's director.
