CASABLANCAS QUITS BOOZE
THE STROKES rocker JULIAN CASABLANCAS has quit drinking, fearing his alcohol habit was ruining his creativity.
The singer partied hard during the band's early years, but admits his dependence on drink started to affect his ability to write and record good music.
Casablancas tells GQ magazine, "I don't really drink. Creatively, drinking was becoming a hindrance. I always promised myself, 'If it starts affecting the music, I've got to chill out.'"
But the Last Nite hitmaker admits shaking the habit was hard - and he misses the buzz of being drunk: "If I didn't drink I felt sick. It was so nice to automatically feel happy. I miss it every day."
