CARTER'S WEIGHT GAIN WAS DOWN TO DEPRESSION

BACKSTREET BOYS star NICK CARTER has blamed his massive weight gain last year (06) on depression following his family's reality TV show, THE HOUSE OF CARTERS. The singer ballooned to 224 pounds (101.6 kilograms) in 2006, and claims watching the "shocking" playback of the series on America's E! network triggered his weight gain. He tells U.S. magazine People, "With my show The House of Carters, it was a shock to me to realise what my family had gone through. After so many years of dysfunction and my parents finally getting divorced and everybody being lost and me being the oldest, there was a lot of stress, a lot of pressure. "So I finally concentrated on my health, even went to some therapy. They say it starts on the inside. And it's nice when people look at you and think, 'Wow, he got his stuff together.'"
