CARREY FAKES PROPOSAL ON ELLEN'S SHOW

JIM CARREY shocked viewers of ELLEN DeGENERES' talk show on Wednesday (17Dec08), by pretending to propose to his girlfriend JENNY MCCARTHY.
In a staged stunt DeGeneres put the pair on the spot, daring Carrey to pop the question, during his appearance on the show to promote his new movie Yes Man.
After calling MCCarthy onto the stage, DeGeneres said, "He says yes to everything, and you've all been together for three years. We thought you should propose to her on the show."
Shocked audience members and millions of viewers then watched Carrey fall to one knee, and coo, "I love you so much and I know we never planned on doing this, because we never felt we needed a third party to tell us our relationship was sacred. But Jenny, would you....." before he stopped and was interrupted by a jingle and DeGeneres, who kicked off another segment of the show.
Earlier this year, Carrey insisted he would never marry MCCarthy, saying, "No, we won't get married, although it is wonderful to have someone who entertains you and gets your jokes!"
