CANADA ASKS HOW DO YOU SOLVE A PROBLEM LIKE MARIA?

The star of Canada's upcoming THE SOUND OF MUSIC will be chosen by public vote as part of a new reality TV show. After Brits picked Connie Fisher to front the West End revival of the musical in 2006, Canadian producers have chosen to follow suit and they'll air How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? auditions next year (08). The show was a ratings winner in the U.K. and has since spawned a U.S. spin-off series, seeking the leads in Grease on Broadway. The people's choice for the Canadian Maria will be announced in the finale of an eight-week competition next summer (08). The winner will immediately join rehearsals for the stage production.
