Calvin Harris was scared of working with Kylie Minogue and got drunk to calm his nerves before going into the studio with her.

Calvin Harris got drunk to prepare for working with Kylie Minogue.

The 'I'm Not Alone' hitmaker - who co-wrote and produced tracks for the 'Wow' singer's 'X' album - was so scared of working with the pop icon in the early days of his career he had to consume alcohol to calm himself down.

He said: "That was odd, and it was one of the first things I did properly when I got signed. She was very nice, I was very nervous. I did have a drink, it didn't help. I was just drunk!"

Although he enjoyed collaborating with Kylie, the 25-year-old 'Acceptable In The 80s' star turned down the chance to work with 'Poker Face' singer Lady Gaga because he had no idea who she was.

He explained to more magazine: "The producers asked but I didn't know her. They sent me a song. I said no, but then her singles have been really good. The one they sent me was an album track.

"I just didn't know anything about her and judged it on that one track."
