CAINE SLAMS BRITISH FILM INDUSTRY

SIR MICHAEL CAINE has infuriated the British film industry with claims its scripts are too poorly written to entice him. The London-born star has appeared in only one home-grown movie since 2000, and vows to continue shunning British projects until better offers come his way. He says, "All my films would be British films if I got the scripts. "But then the thing is I can't just sit around for 15 years waiting for another EDUCATING RITA." Caine recently extended his attack of contemporary films to Hollywood too, fuming, "I can't think of one (recent movie) I could see again. Some of the pictures are so gross."
