CAINE: 'SEND THUGS TO SCHOOL'
Veteran actor MICHAEL CAINE has urged the British government to crack down on the U.K.'s spiralling youth crime - by sending young offenders to special schools instead of prison.
The Get Carter star plays a widower who avenges the death of a pal at the hands of young thugs in new movie Harry Brown.
He is adamant officials in the U.K. need to take drastic action to prevent victims turning vigilante - but insists tough jail sentences are not the answer to the country's growing street crime.
Caine says, "They need to be sent to school, not a prison where they will learn to be criminals."
