CAINE EXPECTS TO 'FADE AWAY'
Sir Michael Caine has said he has no plans to retire from acting, but instead will simply "fade away" if the right script doesn't come his way.
The 76-year-old claims apart from the third Batman film he is contracted to do, he currently has no future films lined up, and if nothing he is interested in comes his way, he will drift away from the movie business.
Speaking to the Reuters news agency, Caine said: "It's the old Mafia thing, you make me an offer I can't refuse. And it's nothing to do with the money anymore, it's to do with the script.
"If a script doesn't turn up that I can't refuse, then I'm retired.
"There's no fanfare or announcement in the newspapers, I've just gone. I used to be a soldier and as they say 'old soldiers don't die they just fade away.'"
Caine was talking to reporters ahead of the release of his new film Is Anybody There?, which will hit cinemas in the UK on May 1st.
