CAINE: 'BECKHAM TOO YOUNG FOR KNIGHTHOOD'
Screen legend SIR MICHAEL CAINE has poured scorn on speculation England soccer ace DAVID BECKHAM is set to be honoured with a knighthood, insisting he's too young for the prestigious title. THE ITALIAN JOB star is bemused by reports in the British press that Beckham's skills on the sportsfield will make him a 'Sir'. He's convinced the royal accolade takes years of hard work to earn, and the 31-year-old will have to wait his turn. He says, "David seems a bit young to be a sir. I wasn't a sir until I was 66. SEAN (CONNERY) was 68 when he got his, ROGER (MOORE) was 75. "How old is David - 30? They could at least wait till he was 33 or 34!"
