CAGE HOOKED ON RUNNING AS HE BECOMES COMIC BOOK SKELETON
NICOLAS CAGE was so determined to look as gaunt as possible for his upcoming portrayal of troubled comic book character GHOST RIDER he developed a running addiction.
The dedicated movie star decided JOHNNY BLAZE, the human alterego of his skeletal character, had to be super-skinny, so he spent months losing weight and became a running man.
He explains, "I had to do quite a bit of working out and portioning my diet... Everybody thought there was something wrong with me, that I was ill or something because I was getting so thin.
"I had really lost a lot of weight because I wanted the character to be really gaunt. The working out I was more concerned about because I was running about 12 miles a day and that can get a little addictive.
"I'm trying not to do that now in my own life."
