BUTLER SCOOPS TOP PRODUCING HONOURS

Former SUEDE star BERNARD BUTLER has walked away with the top honour at the Music Producers' Guild Awards in London.
The British guitarist was handed the MPG Producer Of The Year trophy and the Brit statuette for Best Producer at the ceremony on Thursday (12Feb09) for his work with stars such as Duffy, Black Kids and Tricky.
He beat out competition from Brian Eno, who has worked with U2 and Coldplay, and Steve MAC, who has produced albums for Leona Lewis and Il Divo.
Other winners at the ceremony included Eno (Innovation In Production), British band Elbow (U.K. album and Single) and Calvin Harris (Best Remixer).
