BURN AFTER READING LEAVES UK COMPETITION UP IN SMOKE
GEORGE CLOONEY and BRAD PITT's crime comedy BURN AFTER READING has raced to the top of the U.K. box office chart in its opening weekend.
The movie, directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, sizzles in pole position with takings of $3.53 million (GBP2.04 million), leaving Shia LaBeouf's Eagle Eye in second place with $1.9 million (GBP1.1 million).
Animated family film Igor enters at number three with $1.6 million (GBP981,750), while comedy The House Bunny and Kiefer Sutherland's thriller Mirrors rounds out the top five with $1.14 million (GBP664,306) and $1.01 million (GBP585,350) respectively.
