X-Factor winner ALEXANDRA BURKE has revealed she would like to crack the lucrative American market.

LEONA LEWIS, who was a previous winner of the popular talent show, went on to score a US number one with her debut song 'Bleeding Love' and was nominated for three Grammys this year.

Now Burke says she is ready to try her luck stateside after watching British acts dominate the awards ceremony.

"Watching Coldplay take away three [awards] was just amazing to watch - it inspired me so much," she told Metro. "I am so happy for them. For that to happen to me... wow, that would be incredible."

She added that her success happened at such speed that she believes "anything is possible now".

It was recently reported that the former manger of late soul legend James Brown turned down the chance to work with Burke as she was too demanding to take on.
