BUNNYMEN STAR KILLED IN CRASH
Former ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN star JAKE BROCKMAN has been killed in a motorcycle crash.
The 53-year-old keyboard player died after his bike collided with a converted ambulance on the Isle of Man, off the coast of the U.K.
The accident occurred on Tuesday evening (01Sep09).
Brockman was taken to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries.
Known as 'the Fifth Bunnyman', the musician has been associated with the band since their 1980s heyday; he became a full-time member in 1989, ironically months before drummer Pete De Freitas was killed in a motorcycle crash.
After the band split in 1983, Brockman went on to form dance band BOM and later worked as a sound recordist for the BBC's natural history unit.
