BRUNI VOWS TO HELP BATTLE AIDS

France's first lady, model-turned-pop star CARLA BRUNI, will use her celebrity profile to rally support in the fight against the deadly AIDS virus.
The wife of French president Nicolas Sarkozy will act as a goodwill ambassador for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, as well as other dangerous illnesses including tuberculosis and malaria.
Bruni, who dated rock star Sir Mick Jagger in her modelling days, has often spoken out about using her powerful position to help good causes.
The 40-year-old Italian beauty will focus her AIDS charity work on the plight of mothers and children who are affected by the disease.
