BROOKS TURNS TO DVD FOR YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN INSPIRATION
Theatre/film legend MEL BROOKS has started watching his 1974 movie YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN in a bid to inspire the forthcoming stage adaptation of the horror musical.
Brooks admits he isn't totally happy with the show's ending - just a month before it is due to start previewing in Seattle, Washington - ahead of its opening on New York's Broadway in November (07).
But the director claims he has been finding inspiration in deleted scenes and outtakes from the Young Frankenstein movie after watching the DVD's extras.
He tells the New York Post's PageSix column, "Hey, I don't even remember shooting that! But I'm not surprised - it's damn good."
