BROOKS DEVELOPS SPACEBALLS ANIMATED SERIES

Veteran comedy writer and producer MEL BROOKS is developing an animated TV series based on his hit movie SPACEBALLS. SPACEBALLS: THE ANIMATED SERIES will be modelled on the 1987 comedy, spoofing current blockbusters as well as reality TV, culture and politics. Production is starting on the initial 13 episodes set to debut on cable network G4 in fall 2007. Brooks will voice two characters in the show, and has co-written the pilot with longtime collaborator THOMAS MEEHAN, who will oversee all writing for the series.
