BROCK: 'I'M NOT STARSTRUCK BY MARR'
MODEST MOUSE frontman ISAAC BROCK insists he didn't ask British guitarist JOHNNY MARR to join his band because of his legacy in THE SMITHS.
Brock is adamant he was attracted to Marr's musical prowess rather than his celebrity credentials.
He says, "I like the Smiths, don't get me wrong. But I wasn't all that boisterous about them.
"One of the reasons I thought he'd be a good person to work with in the first place was that he plays entirely differently to me. He has a much more liquid, fluid style, which I thought would be an interesting contrast to how jagged-y I play.
"I hate to break it to you man, but I've never been f**king starstruck."
