BRITNEY'S DIVORCE MADE OFFICIAL

The marriage of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline has officially been terminated at a US court.

The pair's fractious relationship came to an end last year, but the formal divorce orders were only signed off yesterday at Los Angeles superior court.

"Everything is finalised. They are divorced," Britney's attorney Laura Wasser said afterwards.

Proceedings to determine which of the couple will have custody of their two children will continue next month, while alimony payment decisions have not been disclosed.

The decision brought to an end the union between the rapper and Toxic star – Britney's second after her first whirlwind wedding to childhood friend Jason Alexander was annulled after only 55 hours.

Britney has been at the centre of very public concerns about her state of mind in recent months, having shaved all her hair off and spent time in rehab after appearing to go off the rails.

She was also photographed without any underwear on two occasions as she went out partying but has recently seemingly being trying to mend her reputation.

But she was back in the tabloids for the wrong reasons after a photoshoot for OK! Magazine this month, where she was said to have been behaving in a "disorientated" and "erratic" manner.

Britney, 25, and Federline, 28, have two children, Jayden James and Sean Preston, who they will continue to share custody of until next month's court hearing.
