BRITNEY SPEARS has been showing the world that she can wear underwear - by skipping around a beach in nothing but lingerie.

The 25-year-old singer has been slammed over recent months for her outrageous behaviour and partying without any knickers on, but the pop star decided to strip down to a bra and panties to caper around on a Malibu beach recently to show she is on the road to recovery.

Instead of looking ill and troubled, Britney looked tanned and toned in the sea with friend LUCY WALSH, during the spontaneous dip in the ocean.

An onlooker told the Sun: "Britney just yanked all of her clothes off and jumped in the sea. It was a very hot day and I imagine she wanted to cool down.

"She looked in fantastic shape. At one stage she even gave a sneaky peek of her bottom."

However, the near-see through bra and knickers did not enhance Britney's reputation as a girl who likes to cover her modesty.
