BRITISH SOAP STAR DIES
British TV actor ROSS DAVIDSON, famed for his work in popular soap operas EASTENDERS and HOLLYOAKS, has died of brain cancer. He was 56. The much-loved Scottish star, who played nurse ANDY O BRIEN in EastEnders, was diagnosed with a brain tumour last year (FEB05). Widow BARBARA, who married Davidson three months after his tragic diagnosis, says, "He was a great husband, great father and a great son. The amazing thing is Ross kept smiling until the bitter end." Davidson is also survived by his eight-year-old son DREW, from a previous marriage.
