BRITISH PM SLAMS PRINCE HARRY COMMENTS
British Prime Minister GORDON BROWN has waded into the PRINCE HARRY race row - insisting the royal's comments were "unacceptable".
The third in line to the U.K. throne is mired in controversy after he was caught on film calling an army colleague a "P*ki" and describing another as looking "like a raghead".
He issued a swift apology over the incident, which occurred in 2006 - and the British PM has now urged the public to forgive the royal for his comments.
Brown tells U.K. morning show GMTV, "I think Prince Harry knows these comments were unacceptable. I think the British people are good enough to give someone who has actually been a role model for young people and has done well fighting for our country, gone into very difficult situations with bravery, I think they will give him the benefit of the doubt."
The prince, who caused outrage in 2005 when he was pictured at a fancy dress party wearing a Nazi uniform, is facing an army inquiry into the film.
