BRITISH PAPER APOLOGISES FOR WELCH DRUG ALLEGATIONS

British newspaper The Mail On Sunday has apologised to actress RAQUEL WELCH after claiming her daughter TAHNEE had suffered a drug problem. Instead of negotiating through lawyers, the One Million Years B.C. beauty, 66, wrote to the London-based publication's Letters page from her Los Angeles home address. Welch said she was unhappy that a March (07) feature on her in the newspaper's You magazine supplement claimed Tahnee "had once suffered with a drug problem". Welch writes, "The questionable source of this information appears to be one of those baseless rumours that surface on the internet and it's entirely untrue. "As her mother, I can assure you that Tahnee has never, ever had a drug problem." In response, The Mail On Sunday published an apology, reading, "We are happy to report that our information was wrong and Tahnee Welch has never had any drug problem. We apologise for any embarrassment caused."
