BRIGITTE NIELSEN CHECKS INTO REHAB

Hollywood actress and Rocky IV star Brigitte Nielsen has checked into a rehabilitation facility in the US.

The 44-year-old's manager, Steven Tempone, confirmed that Nielsen had entered rehab through her own "free will".

He told the Associated Press news agency: "It's something she did on her own … we're proud of her and wish her very well."

Mr Tempone would not confirm what the actress was in rehab for and said he was not sure when she had entered the facility.

He added: "When she gets out we'll have a big birthday party, and Coca-Cola only."

Nielsen is the former wife of Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone and starred alongside the action actor in the fourth Rocky film.

Her other film roles have included starring alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in Red Sonja.

She is also known to UK TV audiences after appearing on the reality show Celebrity Big Brother alongside her former mother-in-law Jackie Stallone.
