BRAZIL LIVE EARTH CANCELLED

The Rio de Janeiro leg of LIVE EARTH has been cancelled by a Brazilian judge because police can't guarantee the safety of the 3 to 4 million fans expected to attend. The concert was due to take place on the city's Copacabana Beach on Saturday (07Jul07), as part of a series of extravaganzas taking place in seven different continents. Lenny Kravitz, MACy Gray and Pharrell WIlliams were due to headline the gig in Rio. Organisers of the only free Live Earth show have launched an appeal to overturn the decision.
