BRANGELINA DONATE $100,000 TO SUDAN

Hollywood golden couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have donated $100,000 (£58,000) to a charity working in Sudan.

Their money will help to build the first modern medical facility in the troubled country's Duk county. The Duk Lost Boys clinic, the brainchild of the Direct Change charity, will serve more than 150,000 people in the region.

Pitt is said to have been inspired to help following the film God Grew Tired of Us, which he executively produced. He was told about the clinic at the Hollywood premiere of the film in January.

"Words can not express my gratitude and gratitude of the people of Duk county," said John Dau, director of Direct Change and one of the "lost boys" of Sudan featured in the film.

"Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt demonstrate the American spirit of generosity. Hopefully, their donation will inspire others to join with us to rebuild southern Sudan," he added.

It is not the first time that the couple have tried to help in Sudan; Jolie is a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations' refugee agency and has spent time visiting refugees from the country in neighbouring Kenya and Chad.
