BRAND HAS SANDLER TO THANK FOR STATESIDE FAME

British comedian RUSSELL BRAND has credited actor ADAM SANDLER with helping him break into the film industry on the other side of the Atlantic.
The funnymen immediately hit it off after meeting in 2006, when Sandler appeared as a guest on Brand's now-defunct TV programme The Russell Brand Show.
The Big Daddy star was so impressed with Brand, he introduced him to his agent - and has even cast him as his sidekick in the upcoming Disney movie Bedtime Stories.
Brand, 32, says, "He recommended me to his agent. His agent said, 'Do you want to come to Los Angeles and make films? I said, 'How odd that you would say that. That's exactly what I want to do!'"
