BOYLE: 'I REINVENT ACTORS'

TRAINSPOTTING director DANNY BOYLE likes to reinvent the actors he works with to distance them from their previous roles. The filmmaker has criticised actors' diva-like demands - and insists he disorientates any star working on his movies, and enjoys subjecting them to a culture shock. He says, "Actors are steeped in a world of agents and where the next job is coming from and what their expenses and what the hotel is like. "You want to take them out of that world and dump them into another world, so that when you meet them on the screen they don't seem like the guy who was in two other movies that year."
