BOYLE HOPEFUL OF MCGREGOR RECONCILIATION
Director DANNY BOYLE is still hopeful he can persuade EWAN MCGREGOR to star in an adaptation of IRVINE WELSH book PORNO, despite the actor not wanting to speak to him.
MCGregor, who starred in Boyle's movies TRAINSPOTTING and A LIFE LESS ORDINARY, was furious when Boyle cast LEONARDO DiCAPRIO and not him in 2000's THE BEACH, shot in Thailand.
But the filmmaker claims MCGregor can't rule out starring in a Porno adaptation without looking at its screenplay first.
Boyle says, "He hasn't seen the script. He may not like the book, but the script is very different.
"I understand he was hurt. I've apologised for that. I've said sorry to him, I've said sorry in public.
"But, look, we wanted to be very responsible to the environment and to the Thai crews. That meant having a certain budget. And that meant having a big star.
"No one believes me when I say this, but it's true."
