BOY GEORGE RELEASED EARLY FROM PRISON FROM GOOD BEHAVIOUR

Singer Boy George has been released from prison four months into a 15-month sentence over the false imprisonment of a male escort.

The 80s singer - real name George O'Dowd - was charged with having chained Audun Carlsen to a radiator at Mr O'Dowd's home in Shoreditch, east London, in April last year.

He was found guilty at Snaresbrook crown court in December and sentenced to 15 months in prison but has been released from Edmunds Hill prison in Suffolk for good behaviour.

The former Culture Club frontman, sporting a shaved heard and goatee beard, waved to waiting media before being drive home to Hampstead, north London.

He is expected to wear an electronic monitoring tag and adhere to a curfew during the remainder of his sentence.

Mr Carlsen and Mr O'Dowd had arranged to meet after contacting each other on the social networking website Gaydar, with Mr Carlsen receiving payment from the singer to pose for photographs.

Jurors in the 2008 case heard that at their first meeting, the two took cocaine and Mr O'Dowd performed a sex act on the escort.

Mr O'Dowd later believed his personal computers had been interfered with and suspected Mr Carlsen of being involved.

The pair exchanged further emails - in which Mr O'Dowd accused Mr Carlsen of hacking into his computer - but eventually arranged a second meeting, during which Mr O'Dowd falsely imprisoned Mr Carlsen.
