BORRELL STARTED TAKING HEROIN ON A WHIM

RAZORLIGHT frontman JOHNNY BORRELL decided to start taking heroin "for the f**k of it". The AMERICA singer took the illegal drug in the late '90s because all his friends were - and his resulting habit ended up costing him his place as bass player in then up-and-coming rockers SERAFIN. Borrell, who has been clean for years, says, "I had a pocket in my jacket with all my drugs in - coke, heroin, pills. I was more excited about the next hit in the toilets than the bass line I was playing. "It was cool and dangerous and because a lot of my friends didn't have the guts to do it. I went round to a friend's house... Everyone was smoking heroin. "I thought, 'I really shouldn't do this.' But I did. For the f**k of it."
