Megan Fox claims she has invented an outrageous persona for herself because she is too boring for other people to be interested in her otherwise.

Megan Fox says she's really boring.

The 'Transformers' star has raised eyebrows with claims about her sexuality and relationship with director Michael Bay, but says it's just a front because she's not interesting enough for the newspapers.

She said: "You have to be put in a box in this industry so they can sell you. They need to get hits on their blogs or sell their magazines. So everyone is something.

"And if I'm not a party girl, which I'm not, I then have to be the outrageous personality."

Megan, 23, says she hides her own personality under layers of controversy.

She admitted to the New York Times newspaper: "Being a celebrity is like being a sacrificial lamb. At some point, no matter how high the pedestal that they put you on, they're going to tear you down. And I created a character as an offering for the sacrifice. I'm not willing to give my true self up.

"The reality is, I'm hidden amongst all the insanity. Nobody can find me."

The 'Jennifer's Body' star - frequently voted among the world's sexiest actresses - claimed to take on different characters depending on what she thinks people want.

She revealed: "There's something so ridiculous about always being in your underwear in those magazines, and you know the interview is going to run opposite those pictures. So, there's a character that talks to all of them."
