BOOMTOWN RATS SUE GELDOF OVER UNPAID ROYALTIES
SIR BOB GELDOF has been sued by his former BOOMTOWN RATS bandmates for allegedly refusing to share the group's fortune since they split. Guitarist GARRICK ROBERTS, who now has a plumbing job to pay the bills, insists he "hasn't received a penny" in royalties from hits including I DON'T LIKE MONDAYS and RAT TRAP since 1986. He's reunited with former band members JOHN MOYLETT, GERRY COTT and SIMON CROWE to issue a joint legal statement demanding compensation from Geldof. He says of the crusading star, "He was always much more of a self publicist than the rest of us. He's learned to use his fame. It's what he's about now."
