BOOKIES CASH IN AFTER BRIAN'S BB TRIUMPH

Brian may have emerged £100,000 richer thanks to his Big Brother victory, but the real winners of the reality TV show's conclusion could be the country's bookmakers.

Twins Sam and Amanda were red hot favourites to scoop the Channel 4 show's top prize, with one Birmingham pundit putting £50,000 on them to win.

But after £1 million was gambled on the outcome of last night's finale and £10 million over the course of the entire show, Brian emerged victorious with a 60.3 per cent share of the public vote.

"This is the best reality TV betting result ever. The satchels are full," a William Hill spokesman told the Sun.

The twins had been 1-25 to win Big Brother outright, leading to some bookies paying out early.

Irish bookmaker Boylesports told the Daily Mirror: "The twins have cost us a lot of money but they have been complete stars."

Meanwhile, they may not have won, but the twins can look forward to a short-lived career in the music industry if Big Brother insiders are to be believed.

The Sun said that record company bosses are queuing up to sign the runners-up to a short-term deal; possibly covering Aqua's 90s hit Barbie Girl.

"Record companies have been contacting us asking to pass on their numbers. They are fighting over Samanda," a source said.
