BONO WINS SUPPORT OF WORLD LEADERS IN AFRICA PLEA
U2 frontman BONO has successfully brought the issue of African poverty to the world's wealthiest nations.
The Irish rocker, a campaigner for third world debt relief, met German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Tuesday (17APR07) where he secured a pledge to use the G8 summit in northern Germany in June (07) to plead Africa's case.
He says, "Africa is this magical, extraordinary continent and we've got to start describing it more as an opportunity than a burden."

Bono never gives up! He really is Mr Motivator & puts the rest of us to shame.
He really is a one of.
this is amazing, the wonderful influence he has in these areas. he is a
wonderful ambassador for the extreme poor in africa. G8 is a few months away,
and at the beginning of the year he and Bob Geldof opened an office near the G8
site in Germany to keep close watch on the matters there, making sure extreme
poverty in Africa remains an important issue this summer. thanx for posting
this great news. stay close, sammi in seattle =)
