BONO ORGANISES ART FUNDRAISER FOR HIV RELIEF IN AFRICA

Humanitarian rocker BONO is organising a Valentine's Day (14Feb08) art auction to raise money for the United Nations' HIV relief program in Africa. The U2 frontman is teaming up with British artist Damien Hirst to stage The (Red) Auction event at the Gagosian Gallery in New York City on 14 February (08). Among the dozens of items available for sale at the fundraiser are seven Hirst artworks. Organisers hope to raise $29 million (GBP14.5 million) at the event.
