BONO: `I UNDERSTAND BLAIR'S TERRORISM DILEMMA'

BONO has great sympathy for former British Prime Minister TONY BLAIR - because he couldn't win the battle with terrorism. The outspoken Irish rocker insists Blair had no choice but to join President George W. Bush and go on the offence against Al Qaeda and Iraqi groups - because he didn't want to become another Neville Chamberlain, who overlooked the threat of Adolf Hitler. Bono says, "I think people as reasoned as Tony Blair looked at the world and didn't want to be Neville Chamberlain, who came back from meeting with Hitler with a piece of paper saying `Peace in our time,' while Hitler was planning to cross the channel from France."
