BONO AND WYCLEF HONOURED FOR CHARITY WORK

Rocker BONO and rapper WYCLEF JEAN have been honoured for their dedication to human rights at a ceremony in New York.
The stars were guests of honour at The Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights charity prizegiving on Wednesday (18Nov09), when they were presented with the Ripple of Hope Award.
Jean, who also performed at the event, was praised for his work with his Yele Haiti organisation, which aims to inspire change in his native Haiti, while the U2 singer is heavily involved in raising awareness about poverty and health issues in Africa.
Paying tribute to the pair, organisation founder Kerry Kennedy told the audience: "As champions of justice, Bono and Wyclef have brought the national spotlight to human rights violations, empowered local activists, and transformed the lives of millions of people living in poverty from Port-Au-Prince to Darfur.
"Their efforts evoke the spirit of my father and we are honoured to recognise them."
