BOND GIRL IN KIDNAP PLOT
A mafia plot to kidnap Bond girl MARIA GRAZIA CUCINOTTA has been thwarted by Italian police.
Cucinotta, who starred in 1999's The World Is Not Enough, was mentioned in a conversation between gangsters Giuseppe Maniaci and Salvatore Micali.
Italian police, who had their house bugged, heard Maniaci saying, "What about kidnapping Maria Cucinotta and asking for a ransom? We could make a lot of money."
The pair are on trial for extortion.
