BONADUCE: 'ROBERT DOWNEY JR WAS MY ROLE MODEL'

Former THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY star DANNY BONADUCE regularly tried to top his role model ROBERT DOWNEY JR in self-destructive behaviour, because the CHAPLIN star was his role model in the 1980s. Bonaduce, who is now sober, along with Downey, has experienced various substance abuse problems and trouble with law enforcement throughout his life. He explains, "Robert Downey Jr was essentially my role model for years. "I'd do something really neat and then he'd drive around naked with a gun. I'm going, 'You bastard!' "You're always trying to one up him, but you just can't beat him. You can't do it!"
