BON JOVI DONATES $1 MILLION TO HOUSING PROJECT

Rocker JON BON JOVI has donated $1 million (GBP540,541) to help build new affordable housing in his home state of New Jersey.
The Bon Jovi star joined state Governor Jon Corzine, Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker, and fashion designer Kenneth Cole on Tuesday (02Sep08) to announce the $15 million (GBP8.1 million) project.
The singer's Philadelphia Soul Charitable Foundation will provide the donation to the 51-unit building in Newark, the state's largest city, which will house the homeless and people with special needs.
