BOLAN FANS CALL FOR POSTHUMOUS AWARD

Fans of tragic T-REX frontman MARC BOLAN have asked Brit Award bosses to hand the singer a posthumous prize, to mark the 30th anniversary of his death. Bolan was just 29 when he was killed in a car accident in 1977. Although the Brits were held in February this year (07), organisers of a petition are hoping Bolan will be recognised at the next ceremony in 2008 - and they have already attracted 2,000 signatures. The petition reads, "We should be able to convince the doubting Brits of the passion we all hold for Marc Bolan and the contribution he made to the industry and we need to recognise this."
