BLUR TOO BUSY FOR MUSIC

Blur will not accompany their comeback shows with a new album because they are too busy with ventures away from the band.

Blur are "too busy" to record a new album.

The reformed Britpop legends are currently preparing for their comeback concerts, but guitarist Graham Coxon - who recently released his latest solo LP 'The Spinning Top' - has warned fans not to expect any new material.

He said: "We don't envisage a new Blur album for the moment - we're all busy with our own projects.

"I'll have a new solo album sooner or later, I already have several songs stacked up. It's a completely different style. They sound more 2066 than 1966 this time."

As well as Graham's solo endeavours, frontman Damon Albarn is busy with his animated group Gorillaz, drummer Dave Rowntree is studying to be a barrister and will also stand in the next general election, while bassist Alex James has carved out a successful second career as a cheese farmer.

Blur play their first comeback show in their hometown of Colchester on June 13.
